The Mt. Washington Eagle - Archive

The Mt. Washington Eagle was a weekly, paid advertisement within the Los Angeles Sunday Times which ran from December 13, 1908 until [at least] January 23, 1910. The Eagle was "Published Sundays in the Interest of Mt. Washington" and had a listed "General Manager" of A. St. C. Perry (Arthur St. Clair Perry). It was paid for by Robert Marsh in his capacity as agent for the Mount Washington Company. Most issues of the Eagle ran within the Real Estate section (Part V) of the Times, while some later issues ran in Important Local Affairs (Part II). Each Eagle took up the top-half of a single page of the paper.

While the Mount Washington Company advertised as early as the summer of 1906, the Eagle - as well as a regular 1/8 page corner add on the cover of the Real Estate section in each Sunday's paper - was its most concerted and widest effort during the early years of their ownership. After 52 Sundays, "Volume 2" launched a year after Volume 1, on December 12, 1909. The last issue found for purposes of this site, to date, was January 23, 1910.
